Giant Pixie Frog (Pyxicephalus adspersus)
Pyxicephalus adspersus is a really huge eater. They eat everything they can put in mouth and grow really fast. For the froglets to grow into 12cm, it only takes 4-6 months if you feed them every day. When giant pixie frog’s froglets just came out of water, they were only 2cm, after they become adult, male can reach 24.5cm (9.6 inch) in snout-to-vent length but female only in 10-12cm.

Product Description

Pyxicephalus can separate into two parts, one is Pyxis means “BOX” or “ROUND”, another part is Cephalus which means “HEAD”. That’s why most people call them boxhead bullfrog in Asia.  Adult male frog looks like dark color bitter gourd and have blue eyes. During breeding season, if you keep Giant Pixie Frogs together, you can see the male frog fight for mating chance.
